Welcome Baby Cards

I had a baby boy in July and am now trying to get back into crafting. The past year has been chaotic - we bought a house in September, adopted two huskies in November, followed by pregnancy and a newborn which left little time to craft. I only made cards that others requested and didn't make anything that I wanted to create due to lack of time and lack of motivation.

I decided to make thank you cards for those that got me gifts or have helped with the baby since he was born. I created these cards using various die sets fr6m The Greetery's New Beginnings Collection. The sentiment for each card is from The Greetery Baby Face Sentiment Stamp Set which coordinates perfectly with each of the die sets I used. This stamp set also contains various facial expressions that can be used for each.

For my first card, I used Baby Face Bee Die for the small and large bee. I cut the body from Taylored Expression's Lemon Meringue cardstock and shaded the edges with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Sunbeam using an Altenew Mini Ink Blending Brush. The wings were cut with Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Vellum and the black was from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the checks using Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and the facial expressions using Versafine Onyx Black Ink

For the background, I used a retired stencil from Pink & Main and ink blended using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink Marine using a Pink & Main Ergonomic Blending Brush which I used for all the backgrounds in this post. I used the same ink for the "BABY" in the sentiment to ensure it matched and VersaFine Onyx Black Ink for the rest. Finally, I embellished the card with Little Things from Lucy's Cards Canary Sequin Mix and glued the card front onto a card base made from TE Cotton Candy cardstock.

For this card, I used Baby Face Orange Die Set where the oranges were cut from TE's Candy Cord Cardstock and the leaves from TE's Granny Smith cardstock. I ink blended the oranges with SSS Pawsitvely Saturated Ink Sherbet and the leaves with Fairway. For the tops of the oranges and the flowers, I cut them out in Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored the tops with Olo Marker O2.7. For the flowers, I used a small blending brush and SSS Pawsitvely Saturated Ink Carnation to get some variation. For the flower centers, I used Little Things from Lucy's Cards Dahlia Pearls

For the background, I ink blended Marine Ink over SSS Mix and Match Squares Stencil. Because the background has a lot of color, I used Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin to stamp the "HELLO" as Distress Oxide Inks are more opaque. I placed the card front onto a card base made from TE's Candy Corn cardstock.

For this card, I used Baby Face Sweet Pea Die Set where the peas were cut from TE's Granny Smith Cardstock and the rest was cut from TE's Peapod Cardstock. I shaded the edges using SSS Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Fairway and Field. Like the previous card, the flowers were ink blended with Carnation ink. I used SSS Abstract Triangles stencil for the background with Fawn ink. The "HEY" in the sentiment was also stamped with Carnation ink. I then embellished the card with Little Thing's from Lucy's Cards Ballerina Sequin Mix and placed the card front on a card base made from TE's Bubblegum cardstock.

For my final card, I used Baby Face Sprout Die cut from TE's Granny Smith, Honey, and Mocha cardstock. For the sprout, I added SSS Pawsitvely Saturated Fairway Ink and for the pot, I added Cappuccino Ink. I ink blended the background using SSS Boho Circle Stencil and Pawsitively Saturated Fawn Ink. For the sentiment, I used Distress Oxide Brushed Corduroy for "LITTLE" and then embellished the card with Little Thing's from Lucy's Cards Honey Sequin Mix. I added the card front to a card base made from TE's Granny Smith cardstock.
