Military Appreciation Cards

Image
To create these cards, I used a background stamp from Taylored Expressions called Sketched Flag Background. I used Blue Corn and and Mulled Wine inks. This background stamp is easy to ink up in order to create multiple backgrounds. I chose these ink colors as Taylored Expressions has a cardstock line that matches their inks perfectly. Although I didn't use the matching cardstock for these cards, I did on the cards shown below.  To finish the cards, I used a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Stamp Set . This stamp set comes with a variety of sentiments that fit any occasion. I did not have any stamps or dies to create the word "Sailor" or for any of the other branches so I created my own using Concord & 9th's Tall Type Alphabet Dies . These dies are tall and narrow so they are good for creating longer words to still fit on an A2 card front. I used Sizzix Gold Surfacez Opulent Cardstock for the letters. In the lower corner, I stamped one of the sta

Using Layering Stamps to Create Backgrounds

This card features  Altenew's Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth Stamp Set and the following Ink Bundles from Altenews: Rose Petal , Tranquility , Sugarplums , and Green Valley . Altenew's Ink Sets are each a color family that has 4 colors which makes choosing colors for layering stamps easy. These inks are dye inks on a felt pad and come in many colors. They are the first dye ink line I invested in and my go to for when I'm struggling to pick a color. The inks and card stock for each card is listed below.  Pink Rose Quartz , Puffy Heart , & Purple Wine Ink Papertrey Ink's Raspberry Fizz Cardstock Little Things From Lucy's Cards Pearls Glossy Watermelon Mix Flower Centers: Chamomile Ink Blue Misty Morning , Cloudy Sky , & Nimbus  Ink Papertrey Ink's Enchanted Evening Cardstock Little Things From Lucy's Cards Pearls Soft Cornflower Mix Flower Centers: Caramel Toffee  Ink Purple Pale Mauve , Amethyst , and Grape Agate Ink Papertrey Ink's Winter Wisteria C

To create these cards, I used various dies from Spellbinders Paint Your World Die Bundle . This bundle as well as the individual sets are on sale until August 28, 2022 as part of their Back to School Sale which has lots of crafting supplies for up to 40% off. Each card uses a sentiment from Spellbinders Paint Your World Sentiment Stamp Set stamped with  Tsukineko VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink . To create this card, I cut the brush from Spellbinders Butterfly Burst Etched Die Set using Lawn Fawn's Craft Cardstock and  Sizzix Surfaces Charcoal Opulent Cardstock . The bristles for the brush is from Lawn Fawn's Vanilla Malt Cardstock, which I used for all the brush bristles in this blog post. The leaves and tulips are from Artful Tulip Etched Die Set while the other flowers are from Spellbinders Be Bold Bloom Die Set .  I glued the paintbrush and embellishments onto Hammermill White 100# Smooth Premium Cardstock cut out using Lawn Fawn's  Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackab

Lake Reflections and Sunset Backgrounds

I created these cards using The Greetery's Reflection Stamp Set . This set includes 6 layers to create a reflection scene with trees and a lake. The stamp set includes a guide for how to align the stamps. I decided to create a card set for different times of the day. There is also a coordinating die for this set but I did not use it for these cards. The die only cuts out the trees and has an open edge, which would be great for a tri-fold card which I plan on doing for a future card. The cardstock used for these cards is Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube Cardstock. This card basically represents what the layering guide shows for a quick and simple card. I used Gina K Premium Dye Inks to stamp this image. The colors used are listed below. The first stamp is the lake, which lines up with the bottom corner of the card. The rest of the card builds off of this first stamp. I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the same stamp set with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and then glue
