Glimmer Hot Foil Poinsettia Cards

Image
To create this card, I used Spellbinders Glimmer Poinsettia Hot Foil and Die Set . I used my Glimmer Hot Foil System to add Spellbinders Aura Glimmer Foil to the poinsettia on cardstock from Concord & 9th. I then used my die cutting machine to cut out each layer and glued it together using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue . For the center, I used an embellishment from Trinity Stamp's Gold Eclipse .  To create the leaves, I used the leaf from Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Etched Die Set and a leaf from The Greetery's Pine Wisp Die Set . I glued the die cuts onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 80# Cardstock cut to 5.5" by 3.75" and stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's The Magic of Christmas Stamp Set  with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink . I then glued the card front onto a card base made from the same colored cardstock as the poinsettia. The colors used are listed below. I cut a strip of Tonic Inca Gold Mirror Cardstock to glue to the bottom of the card f...

Welcome Baby Cards

Image
I had a baby boy in July and am now trying to get back into crafting. The past year has been chaotic - we bought a house in September, adopted two huskies in November, followed by pregnancy and a newborn which left little time to craft. I only made cards that others requested and didn't make anything that I wanted to create due to lack of time and lack of motivation.  I decided to make thank you cards for those that got me gifts or have helped with the baby since he was born. I created these cards using various die sets fr6m The Greetery's New Beginnings Collection . The sentiment for each card is from  The Greetery Baby Face Sentiment Stamp Set which coordinates perfectly with each of the die sets I used. This stamp set also contains various facial expressions that can be used for each. For my first card, I used Baby Face Bee Die for the small and large bee. I cut the body from Taylored Expression's Lemon Meringue cardstock and shaded the edges with Simon Says Stam...

Watercolor Poinsettia with Nuvo Shimmer Powder

Image
I created these cards using a technique I featured not long ago which can be found with more detail HERE .  I first heat embossed Colorado Craft Company's   Big & Bold Slimline Poinsettia Stamp Set [left] and  Big & Bold Poinsettia Blessings Stamp Set [right] onto watercolor paper using Versamark Ink and Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder . I then taped these panels down onto a hard surface with Spellbinders Best Ever Craft Tape . I used Catherine Wheel and Maroon Spark Nuvo Shimmer Powder to color the images. I then used the same shimmer powders to create a watercolor to spatter onto the background. For these cards, I used the same method as above but instead used Golden Sparkler and Ivory Willow Nuvo Shimmer Powder. I also added a bit of Green Parade Nuvo Shimmer Powder to the centers of the poinsettias. For the sentiments, I heat embossed sentiments using Christmas Day Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe for the green and Christmas Eve Embossin...

Christmas Time Shaped Cards

Image
To create these shaped cards, I used The Greetery's Hourglass Frame Die and Hourglass Frame Insert Die . This die set is a cute way to create scenes inside an hourglass. The Greetery has a collection of stamps and dies that coordinate with this die set but any scene making stamps or dies will work, especially ones that are made for snow globes. I used the die elements from The Greetery for some of these cards, but there are also coordinating stamps of the same elements. These can easily be made into shaker cards and while I did not make shaker cards this time, I plan to at a later date.   I first cut out the large hourglass shape from Hammermill White 100# Cardstock and used the following Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend the background of my cards. I used Ranger's Mini Blending Tool as I have one foam refill for each color of Distress Oxide Ink. First: Blueprint Sketch , Mermaid Lagoon , Tumbled Glass Second: Salty Ocean , Dusty Concord , Kitch Flamingo Third: Tumbled Glass...

Lake Reflections and Sunset Backgrounds

Image
I created these cards using The Greetery's Reflection Stamp Set . This set includes 6 layers to create a reflection scene with trees and a lake. The stamp set includes a guide for how to align the stamps. I decided to create a card set for different times of the day. There is also a coordinating die for this set but I did not use it for these cards. The die only cuts out the trees and has an open edge, which would be great for a tri-fold card which I plan on doing for a future card. The cardstock used for these cards is Taylored Expressions Sugar Cube Cardstock. This card basically represents what the layering guide shows for a quick and simple card. I used Gina K Premium Dye Inks to stamp this image. The colors used are listed below. The first stamp is the lake, which lines up with the bottom corner of the card. The rest of the card builds off of this first stamp. I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the same stamp set with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and then glue...
