Quick & Simple Cards using Embossing Folders

 


I decided to use up some of my specialty paper by making cards using embossing folders. For the cards above, I used Simon Says Stamp Tumbled Hexagon Embossing Folder along with various specialty paper from Tonic Studios. The colors are listed below:

Blue: Tonic Tidal Wave Mirror Cardstock
Purple: Tonic Soft Amethyst Mirror Satin Cardstock
Pink: Tonic Pink Chiffon Mirror Satin Cardstock
Light Blue: Tonic Marina Mist Mirror Iridescent Cardstock
Green: Tonic Water Sprite Mirror Iridescent Cardstock


To finish the card, I cut out a frame from The Greetery's Nordic Frames Die Set and stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Sentiment Stamp Set using Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink. This stamp set comes with a variety of sentiments for any occasion. I cut out a seahorse from Simon Says Stamp's Picture Book Seahorse Wafer Die from Tonic Holo Waves Mirror Cardstock and glued it onto the frame. To make the eye of the seahorse, I used a pearl from Little Things from Lucy's Cards Soft Black Mix. I trimmed down the card panel to slightly smaller than an A2 card and glued it onto a card base made from Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock. 


To create the card above and the card below, I used paper from Anna Griffin's Metallic Paper Pack along with Simon Says Stamp's Vine Canopy Embossing Folder. I cut the cardstock down so that it would fit onto an A2 card base. I cut out a sentiment using Simon Says Stamp's CZ Design Wafer Dies Thanks set where the main sentiment was cut with Tonic Black Velvet Mirror Card Satin Effect Cardstock and the shadow die was cut with white cardstock. 


To finish this card, I cut out a frame using Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers Open Die. I stamped a "Thank You" sentiment using The Greetery's Sentiment Suite: Thank You Stamp Set and glued a die cut cut out using Simon Says Stamp's Eucalyptus Leaves Wafer Die. I added embellishments from Trinity Stamp's Bubble Bath box and glued my card front onto an A2 card base. 


For this set of cards, I used Simon Says Stamp's Kaleidoscope Embossing Folder along with various colors of iridescent cardstock listed below. I cut each panel down so it was slightly smaller than an A2 card.



To complete this card, I used Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables to cut out a frame. I then stamped an image using Gina K Design's Sketched Flowers using a stamping technique seen previously on my blog using the same stamp set. You can see that blog post HERE for more details. I then stamped a sentiment from The Greetery's Sentiment Suite: Thank You Stamp Set and glued everything down onto an A2 card base.

Iron-Off Embossed Resist on Dark Cardstock with Distress Oxide Sprays

  I'm starting to build up my Christmas card collection for this year and decided I wanted to use an iron-off emboss resist technique to create some quick card sets. To create these cards, I first stamped Colorado Craft Company's Big & Bold Warm Wishes Snowflake Clear Stamp with Veramark Ink onto various dark colored cardstock from Taylored Expressions.  I then used WOW Embossing Powder Clear Gloss which created a darker shiny image of the snowflake as shown above. I then put the card in a cardboard box so that I could use Distress Oxide Spray to add color to the cards. I placed some paper towels in the box to absorb the excess and placed the card down so that the top of the card was closest to me. Northern Lights Background Holiday Card Sets

I created these holiday card sets using the  Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Classic August 2023 Card Kit . Hero Arts card kits are released the first Saturday of every month and they have several  subscription options or can be purchased individually. However, once a kit is sold out, they are no longer available. This card kit was nature themed and comes with dies to create trees lines, mountains, and canyons as well as embossing powders and cardstock, but I decided to use some of the dies for holiday cards instead.  For each card, I first stamped the northern lights using a stamp from  Hero Arts Northern Lights Polar Bears Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White 110# Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and embossed the image with  WOW Opaque Bright White Superfine Embossing Powder . Perfect Pearl Snowflake Background

  I actually started these cards last year and I had intended on making a set that had all snowflakes but my dogs got ahold of the rest of my snowflakes so I decided to create more of a variety. These cards use Ranger's Perfect Pearls which is a metallic pigment powder to make sparkly snowflake backgrounds.  To make the backgrounds, I used snowflakes from  Gina K Designs Sparkling Snowflakes and  Colorado Craft Company Big & Bold Nordic Snowflake . I used my Embossing Magic Powder Bag so that the Perfect Pearls only stuck where I stamped and then I stamped the background using VersaMark Ink . I then put Perfect Pearls on the card front and used a paint brush to spread the pigment powder around. I took a lint free cloth to wipe off the excess powder.
