Clean & Simple Floral Card Sets with a Layered Look


I made multiple variations of this card set for my mother-in-law. These cards were quick and simple to make. The notecard set was made with Gina K Design's Sketched Flowers Stamp Set and Gina K Designs Inks. I first cut out several die cuts from Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables Die Set from Neenah Solar White 110# Cardstock. Using the MISTI (any stamping tool will work), I placed the flower petals where I wanted them on the white cardstock. 


I used a variety of Gina K Designs Inks however any inks will work as long as you have a lighter and darker color. I stamped each card base with the light ink color for each color I was using. Without moving the flowers, I put a darker color ink on each stamp but prior to stamping, I wiped away the ink from the edges with a clean lint free cloth, trying to drag out the ink from the middle towards the edges to create some variation. I then stamped the flower centers, stems, and sentiment. For the Thank You card set, I used a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp All About You Stamp Set stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink. 


Because I had several stamped images, I was able to make this card suitable for a variety of occasions. I used the other sentiments from Gina K Designs' Sketched Flowers Stamp Set which fit the Sketched Flower theme perfectly.

Iron-Off Embossed Resist on Dark Cardstock with Distress Oxide Sprays

  I'm starting to build up my Christmas card collection for this year and decided I wanted to use an iron-off emboss resist technique to create some quick card sets. To create these cards, I first stamped Colorado Craft Company's Big & Bold Warm Wishes Snowflake Clear Stamp with Veramark Ink onto various dark colored cardstock from Taylored Expressions.  I then used WOW Embossing Powder Clear Gloss which created a darker shiny image of the snowflake as shown above. I then put the card in a cardboard box so that I could use Distress Oxide Spray to add color to the cards. I placed some paper towels in the box to absorb the excess and placed the card down so that the top of the card was closest to me. Embossed Vellum Cardfront with Copic Coloring

  To create these cards, I first cut an A2 card front from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110# Cardstock and a sheet of vellum cut to 4.25" by 6" so that it was slightly taller than my A2 card front. I scored the vellum using a Scor-Pal at 5.5" and enforced the scoreline using a Teflon Bone Folder . I then stamped Simon Says Stamp's Hibiscus Blooms Stamp Set onto my white card front using Gina K Designs Obsidian Amalgam Ink using my MISTI .  Without moving the image in my MISTI, I stamped the sheet of vellum using Versamark Ink so that the stamp would align at the bottom of the vellum and heat embossed the image with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder . I also stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew's Bouquet of Love Stamp Set to the vellum. Northern Lights Background Holiday Card Sets

I created these holiday card sets using the  Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Classic August 2023 Card Kit . Hero Arts card kits are released the first Saturday of every month and they have several  subscription options or can be purchased individually. However, once a kit is sold out, they are no longer available. This card kit was nature themed and comes with dies to create trees lines, mountains, and canyons as well as embossing powders and cardstock, but I decided to use some of the dies for holiday cards instead.  For each card, I first stamped the northern lights using a stamp from  Hero Arts Northern Lights Polar Bears Stamp Set onto Neenah Solar White 110# Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and embossed the image with  WOW Opaque Bright White Superfine Embossing Powder .
