Using Up Patterned Paper

I have a lot of patterned paper that I've been trying to use up recently. The patterned paper for this card came recently in a Gina K Designs kit but can also be purchased separately. It's called Delicate Patterned Cardstock and I thought it would be perfect to use for baby cards. I created this card using the dies from Honey Bee Stamp's Bundle of Joy which comes with a variety of dies to make adorable baby clothes and hangers. I found matching cardstock from my stash to make the small bows and buttons. I cut down a card front to 4"x5.25" from Lawn Fawn's Vanilla Malt cardstock to assemble the card and glued it onto an A2 card base made from Neenah Dessert Storm 100# Cardstock

With the paper I had leftover, I made several cards like the one shown above using the same material, but thought there was too much blank space in the background. I used a debossing plate from PinkFresh Studio called Stitched Diamonds Coverplate to create the background which puts a stitching pattern into the cardstock but does not cutout the cardstock.

I finished these cards by adding a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamp's Inside Welcome Baby Sentiment Stamp Set and cut out the sentiment with the coordinating die cut.

I've had Pink & Main's Quilt Square 1 Die for quite some time. I made these cards using LDRS Creative 6x6 Paper Pad Pastel Patterns. This paper pack comes with two patterns for 6 different colors so I paired the two patterns along with two shades of matching cardstock from my stash. I used the die cut to cut out each paper as well as Neenah Solar White 110# Cardstock. I glued the outline of the quilt onto my card front and inlayed the pieces of cardstock to create several patterns. In total, I was able to make 48 quilt patterns for cards while still having a bit of excess from the 6x6 piece of cardstock.

To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set used on the previous cards as the quilt pattern reminded me of a baby blanket. I had considered putting a colored image in the center of the quilt, but I felt so bad covering up any part of the quilt and decided to leave it as is.
