Quick and Simple Poinsettia Christmas Card
This Christmas card was pretty simple to make and easy to mass produce. I was able to make 10 in about an hour. This layout can be used for multiple designs and I've used it in the past on my blog! I've been thinking about making a set like this but using various Christmas embellishments instead of the poinsettia such as a snowflake or Christmas tree with various colors for the background.
To make the background, I used Distress Oxide Spray and Distress Spray Stain using the colors Candied Apple and Lucky Clover. I used Neenah Classic Crest 110# cardstock. When using sprays, I like the look better with regular cardstock instead of watercolor paper as watercolor paper absorbs the ink too much. Due to the small amount of color used, I didn't experience any warping. I first sprayed the oxides starting with the Candied Apple. I then rotated the card to spray the Lucky Clover. To get a better blend, I then resprayed the Candied Apple. Only a little bit of color is needed to get this look. I very lightly sprayed the Distress Spray Stain on top to really make the colors pop.
To finish the card, I used Simon Says Stamp's Stitched Banners Wafer die to create the banner and used stamps from Honey Bee Stamp's Bitty Buzzwords: Holiday. The "joy" is stamped using Altenew's Hunter Green Ink and the "to the world" is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The poinsettia was made with Honey Bee Stamp's Winter Bouquets die set with paper from Taylored Expressions.
