Metallic Watercolors on Black Watercolor Paper

These cards actually took less time than I was anticipating when I first envisioned them. They were created by white heat embossing Altenew's Paint-A-Flower Sweet Pea stamp onto black hot press watercolor paper from Legion cut down to an A2 card front.

Once heat embossed, I painted the flowers using Iuile Watercolors which are color shifting and paint beautifully onto dark paper. The effect is hard to capture in still images and is much more impressive in real life. I used her Neon colors.

To finish the card, I die cut a pink circle and a smaller white circle using Sweet Stack: Circles from Honey Bee Stamps but any circle die cuts would work. The sentiment is from It's Your Birthday from Simon Says Stamp. Finally, I added embellishments from Pink and Main called Unicorn Pearls. These embellishments added a nice touch as they contain multiple colors which matched the florals perfectly.

    1. Hot Press and Cold Press differentiates how watercolor paper is treated. Cold Press is more textured whereas Hot Press has a smoother surface, which for me makes it easier to heat emboss. Both work well for different purposes.
